Although not an immediate telltale of the actual performance, the RX 6950 XT performs better than the RTX 3090 Ti in 3DMark. WCCFTech has leaked benchmarking results from the upcoming RDNA2 refresh. Running on a Ryzen 7 5800X3D with DDR4-3600 on windows 10 the card achieves 22,209 points in Time Spy. Whilst the RTX 3090 Ti was only able to get 20,855 and a heavily overclocked version of the Nvidia card gets 22,408 points.
It is a bit peculiar data since the 3090 Ti does get a lower score than the 3090 and they are taken from varying systems so it’s not an ideal comparison. However, it is a good indicator when comparing the price to the performance. As the MSRP of the Nvidia card is set to $1,999. Whilst the AMD card is supposedly launching at only $1,099. For nearly half the price you may be getting 6.5%
RX 6X50 RDNA2 refresh performance
Along with the comparison to its competitors. WCCFTech has also published the performance of the new reference cards in the rest of the 3DMark benchmarks. Where we can ascertain the kind of performance to expect from the whole lineup. It shows the points scored by the RX 6950 XT, RX 6750 XT, and RX 6650 XT.
Time Spy and Fire Strike are both strong contenders for AMD’s Radeon lineup. It shows that the RX 6950 XT can beat the RTX 3090 Ti, whilst the RX 6750 XT does do well against the RTX 3070. However, not quite reaching the RTX 3070 Ti mark. The RX 6650 XT fitting in nicely in between the RX 6600 XT and RX 6700 XT. Although in Port Royal AMD does show its inferior ray tracing architecture losing out in score compared to its Nvidia counterparts. Although there are sure to be proper benchmarks coming when the refresh supposedly launches on the 10th.
